About the owner

26 years of laying tile and wood floors

Every Priscilla Ferraro Flooring job is measured, planned and installed by owner Steve Mason, who has been installing floors and tile since 2000.

More than 20 of those years were spent as a supervisor and lead installer, much of it on high-end homes in the Naples area. Today he measures, plans and installs every Priscilla Ferraro Flooring job himself.

Compare layouts before you commit

The pattern changes how a room looks as much as the material does, and it changes how much you need to order. Pick a layout and enter your room size for a planning figure.

Built for concrete slabs and Gulf humidity

Most homes here sit on a concrete slab, and the air rarely dries out. Both shape how a floor has to go down.

  • 01

    Flat before anything is set

Large tiles and long planks show every dip in a slab. Low spots are leveled and high spots ground down first, so edges sit even.

  • 02

    Moisture comes first for wood

Slabs hold moisture. Engineered wood goes down only after the slab is checked and the right barrier or adhesive is chosen.

  • 03

    Room to move

Movement joints in tile and expansion gaps at the walls keep tile from tenting and wood from buckling as the seasons change.

Ask about your project
Who will I work with on my project?

You work directly with owner Steve Mason, from the first measure to the final walkthrough. He measures the rooms, checks the slab and existing floor, plans the layout, writes your estimate and is on site for the installation, so there's no hand-off between a salesperson and a crew you haven't met.

How much experience does Steve Mason have?

Steve has 26 years of flooring and tile installation experience, more than 20 of them as a supervisor and lead installer, much of that on high-end homes in the Naples area. Priscilla Ferraro Flooring LLC has been established in Southwest Florida since 2000.

Can engineered wood go over a concrete slab?

Yes. That is what pre-engineered wood is made for. Its layered core moves far less than solid hardwood, so it can be glued down or floated over a concrete slab once the slab's moisture has been checked and the right underlayment or adhesive is chosen.

What's the difference between porcelain and ceramic tile?

Porcelain is fired at higher temperatures from finer clay, so it is denser, harder and absorbs very little water. That makes it the better choice for kitchens, bathrooms, entries and busy living areas. Ceramic is softer and works well on walls and in lighter-use rooms.

Which layout pattern needs the most material?

Herringbone and chevron typically need the most extra, around 15% or more, because every row ends in cuts at the walls. Straight and offset layouts usually need about 10%. Use the layout tool on this page for a quick planning number; the exact amount is worked out at the measure.

What areas do you serve?

Priscilla Ferraro Flooring is based in Estero and works mainly in Estero, Cape Coral, Naples, Fort Myers and Bonita Springs, plus nearby Lee and Collier County communities. Call 239-710-2315 to check your area.

Do I need to have my tile or flooring picked out before I call?

No. Call whether you've already bought your material or are still deciding. Knowing the tile size and layout you're considering helps with a more accurate estimate.

Ready to talk about your floor?

Call Steve directly to describe the rooms, the material you have in mind and your timing. If he can't pick up, leave a message or send the estimate form and he'll get back to you.
