Shower and bathroom tile installation
Tiled showers and bathroom floors for homes in Estero, Cape Coral, Naples and across Southwest Florida, planned and installed by owner Steve Mason.

The most demanding tile job in the house
A shower has to look right and stay watertight for years. That depends on what's behind and under the tile as much as the tile itself: a solid shower floor sloped to the drain, walls that are flat and plumb, and a layout planned around the valve, niche and glass before the first tile is set.
Porcelain is the usual choice for shower walls and floors because it absorbs very little water. Large-format marble-look porcelain gives a clean wall with few grout lines, while small mosaics suit shower floors: the extra grout joints add grip and let the floor follow the slope to the drain.
The details that make a shower
Recessed niches are framed in and lined with tile so shelves sit flush with the wall. Accent bands and borders are set to a level line carried around every wall. Curbs, thresholds and the transition to the bathroom floor are finished so the shower and the room read as one design.
On large-format walls, a leveling system holds each tile flush with its neighbours while the mortar cures. You can see it in the in-progress photo below.
Bathroom floors
The bathroom floor is usually tiled at the same time, in porcelain, marble-look or wood-look tile planks. The layout is planned so full tiles land at the doorway and the pattern lines up with the vanity and shower.

Call 239-710-2315 for anything specific to your home.
What tile is best for a shower?
Porcelain is the most common choice for shower walls and floors because it absorbs very little water and is easy to clean. For the shower floor, smaller mosaic tiles are often preferred because the extra grout joints add grip and let the floor slope to the drain.
Can large-format tile be used in a shower?
Yes, on the walls. Large-format porcelain gives a clean look with fewer grout lines. It needs flat walls and a leveling system during installation so every edge sits flush.
Can you add a niche to my shower?
Niches are built in while the shower walls are open, before tile goes up. Call 239-710-2315 to talk through the size and placement for your bathroom.
