What affects the price of a floor
Every estimate is written for the specific rooms. These are the things that move the number.
Square footage
The total area, and how many separate rooms, closets and hallways it's broken into.
Tile or plank size
Large-format tile needs more prep and handling. Very small tile takes longer to set.
Layout pattern
Herringbone, chevron and diagonal layouts take more time and more material than a straight lay.
Slab condition
How much leveling, grinding or crack treatment the slab needs before the floor goes down.
Existing flooring
Whether there's old tile, carpet or wood to remove first, and what's left on the slab after.
Transitions and trim
Doorway transitions, stair nosing, thresholds and baseboard work.
